wait, mr postman, can anyone tell its full lyrics.
Published on July 30, 2004 By web_poet In Music
Long ago, I listened to a carpenters cassette. One of the songs was, "wait....mr postman, wait....". As it was so long ago, I dont remember its lyrics. But its tune still haunts me, like adolescent love.

I also liked some other numbers but do not remember now.

Can anyone remember them.

BTW, what were the popular groups when carpenters group was the in thing.

Carpenters and beatles, which one do you prefer or used to prefer, I like beatles too, " money cant buy me love"!

I like several Carpenters' songs. Nobody can beat the Beatles though, they never will.

(Stop)
Oh yes, wait a minute Mister Postman
(Wait)
Wait Mister Postman

Please Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time
(Oh yeah)
For me to hear from that boy of mine

There must be some word today
From my boyfriend so far away
Pleas Mister Postman, look and see
If there's a letter, a letter for me

I've been standin' here waitin' Mister Postman
So patiently
For just a card, or just a letter
Sayin' he's returnin' home to me

(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time
(Oh yeah)
For me to hear from that boy of mine

So many days you passed me by
See the tears standin' in my eyes
You didn't stop to make me feel better
By leavin' me a card or a letter

(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there's a letter in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why's it takin' such a long time

(Why don't you check it and see one more time for me, you gotta)
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
Wait a minute
(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman, look and see

(C'mon deliver the letter, the sooner the better)
Mister Postman

Some of their songs I like...Yesterday Once More, Bless The Beasts and the Children, Goodbye To Love, Hurting Each Other....geesh, they had some really good songs, I could go on and on.
Does anyone remember the movie Bless The Beasts and the Children?

I looked the lyrics up for you.
I like some of his songs, my ex-husband was a fan of his. I like Neil Young, Harry Nillson, Cat Stevens, Harry Chapin. So many from the past I still enjoy, The Monkeys, Hermen's Hermits, lol,Herb Albert, but then again, I still love Nat King Cole and many that most on here have probably never heard of.

Who are favorite current singers or groups?
on Jul 31, 2004
My current favs?, thats difficult to say. I listen to Aqua, some eminem, Spears etc.

And I like ghazals a lot, if you know what I mean.... especially Jagjit Singh, Chitra Singh and Ghulam Ali and also a pakistani singer called Adnan Sami.
What do you do, if I may know?

Yes, I remember it well. Nice to see that someone else does.

Now here's a test for YOU, WF...Nobody I've spoken to ever seems to remember the Disney movie "the Gnome Mobile" (which, I found out a few years back, was actually based on an Upton Sinclair novel, information that would have done me no good as a kid, as I had no idea who Upton Sinclair was). Please, WF, tell me you remember that one...

I remember The Gnome-Mobile. I think I have a tie-in paperback edition of the book (with a picture from the film on the cover --
old guy, car, kids, gnomes all over the place) in storage somewhere. It's a good movie, as I recall, but I haven't seen it since the mid-80's. It makes a nice double feature with Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

(Weren't they the same kids from Mary Poppins?)

I like the carpenters, but not a big fan of them. Their songs always sound rather sad, I think.

Sad does not neccessarily mean bad, right RB ?

I like close to you - why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near? just like me they want to be close to you -

I'm singing a long - ha ha

by the Carpenters.

Of course I remember The Gnome Mobile! And yes, they were the same kids as in Mary Poppins.
web_poet -I listen to so many different ones and such an odd mixture, I love John Mayer, Santana, the sound track to Smoke Signals, Enigma, but sometimes it's classic rock and heavy metal.
